Middle School Back-to-School Information


Important Dates-

  • August 3rd - 6-8 PM
    • Middle School Orientation- optional for any 7th or 8th grade students and their family who are interested in learning more about the middle school and taking a self-guided tour of the MS building.  Team, homeroom, and course assignments will be available for pick-up.  Complete schedules will not be given out until the first day of school.

Students arriving between 7:00 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. should report directly to the appropriate area (Homeroom or cafeteria for grab-and-go breakfast).  Students are not permitted in the building before 7:00 a.m. Students arriving after 7:20 a.m. are considered tardy and must report to the office to sign in and receive a pass to class. 


The normal student day ends at 1:45 p.m.


Please use the entrance on the baseball field side of the building by the gymnasium (Door 20). After 7:20 a.m., doors will be locked and students must come to the front office.  Parents who wish to pick up students during the school day must report to the main office.


Written notification to the main office is necessary should a student wish to leave the premises by other than their normal means.  A note from the healthcare practitioner must be turned into the office immediately upon the return to school. Failure to provide such documentation will result in the absences being classified as unlawful / unexcused.


Students should ride the bus assigned to them by the transportation department. 
Students are not permitted to ride another bus without transportation permission.


Students are not permitted to ride bicycles to school.



Student use of personal electronic devices, and other internet-enabled communication devices is permitted at the middle school during instructional time at the discretion of the individual teacher. Student use of these electronic devices in a non-verbal, non-disruptive manner is permitted during non-instructional times as specifically outlined in the student handbook. 



There are a variety of online sources available to provide parents information about the things that are happening at the middle school.  The Middle School webpage ( will prove to be a tremendous starting point to keep everyone informed. USDA has extended school meal waivers through the end of the 2021-2022 school year, allowing school districts to serve
free breakfast and lunch meals to all students, regardless of a family's economic status.    



After school detention assigned by the administration runs Monday through Friday from   1:45 to 2:35 p.m. 



For any absence, an excuse card properly completed and signed by parents must be submitted upon the student’s return to school.  In the event a card is not returned within 3 days, the absence will be declared unlawful.



Application must be made one week prior to the absence.  Appropriate forms are available in the main office or on the district website.



All medication should be given before and after school hours when possible. If it is necessary to give medicine during school hours, proper forms MUST be filled out and on file in the Nurse’s office.
