October 5, 2020: Parent & Staff Communication - Update on Spectators at Athletic Events

Dear Rocket Families and Staff,

As you know, at the September 28, 2020, School Board meeting, the Board voted to increase spectator limits resulting from changes to the Governor’s orders of July 16, 2020. Shortly thereafter, on Thursday, October 1, 2020, a federal appeals court restored Pennsylvania’s pandemic restrictions on indoor and outdoor gatherings, returning our capacity back to 250 for outdoor events and 25 for indoor events. The maximum capacity numbers include student participants, coaches, and event staff.

Like you, we are disappointed in this change, as we were looking forward to welcoming additional spectators at our home athletic events. To repeat, our maximum capacity for outdoor events is 250 and for indoor events is 25. As we have witnessed, changes can take place rather rapidly. We will continue to monitor this ongoing situation and make every effort to communicate any updates to you as quickly as possible.

As we previously communicated, only those with district-issued passes will be allowed entry to athletic competitions. General admission remains closed and visiting team spectators are not permitted. For the safety of our student-athletes and personnel, we ask that you do not congregate on campus.

We invite and welcome everyone to watch the games and cheer for our Rockets at home via our live stream YouTube channels that can be found here:
