Rocketry TARC Team Ranked 34th in the Nation

One of the Spring Grove Area School District Rocketry Teams placed 34th in the nation for the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), the world’s largest rocket contest!

Team 5989 is made up of students from the Middle School, Captain Hans Livelsberger, Delaney Harvison, and Oliver Rumbaugh. They are the highest-placed team in Spring Grove TARC history!

The other three teams placed within the top 100 in the nation:

  • High School Team 5982 (Captain Dylan Tichy, William Hill, Finley Ritenour, Haley Hake) placed 80th
  • High School Team 7009 (Captain Nate Hamme, Nathaniel Alexander, Chase Wentz, Quentin Walker) placed 57th
  • Middle School Team 5986 (Captain Alyssa Beyer, Hailey Graff, Grace Rinehart, Madison Hudak) placed 70th

This year, the competition challenge entailed teams having to launch a rocket containing a large chicken egg to 800 feet and back down in 40 – 43 seconds. The contest gives middle and high school students the opportunity to design, build, and launch model rockets and get hands-on experience solving engineering problems.

Congratulations, Rockets!
