SGAHS NASA SLI Team Earns Third Place

The High School NASA Student Launch Initiative (SLI) Team earned third place in the Target Altitude Competition! The NASA SLI is a program where middle school through university level teams design, build, and fly a rocket carrying a scientific payload to a height of one mile.

This year, the competition was a "call your shot" altitude challenge. In October, all participating teams had to "call their shot" with an altitude between 3500-5500ft. The SGAHS team chose 4300ft based on their design configuration and motor. At the competition, the team reached a height just 147ft from the target in reasonably strong winds.

Way to go, Rockets!
