SGAHS Receives Grant Award from the Spring Grove Area Educational Fund

SGAHS receives SGAEF grant award for disc golf course!

Spring Grove Area High School recently received a Spring Grove Area Educational Fund grant award for the new disc golf course on our campus! The funds from the grant will support various items such as signage, hole markings, tee markings, and basic construction costs.

The entire disc golf course project has been student-led and planned. SGAHS students, Brylan Anderson, Tyler Whalen, Dahgan Anderson, and Colton Anderson (alumnus) have led the initiative to bring this plan to fruition. Earlier in the school year, the students were awarded all of the baskets for the course through a nationwide contest, Pitch for Pins.

The disc golf course will be a great addition to the SGASD campus providing a fun and safe fitness activity for a wide range of ages. Participants can walk approximately three miles while playing the course from start to finish. The students hope the course will encourage the community and students to get outdoors and live a healthy and active lifestyle.
