The following Spring Grove Area High School students recently placed in the top six in the American Legion Oratorical Contest:
- First Place: Gabrielle Etter
- Second Place: Mike Shaqfeh
- Third Place: Gracie Shaub
- Fourth Place: Cole Shaub
- Fifth Place: Tumi Fadare
- Sixth Place: Lily Snyder
Each student had to give an 8-10 minute speech on the Constitution without any notes. In addition, they each gave a 3-5 minute speech on a randomly selected topic on the Constitution. The six students received scholarships ranging from $20-$300 and a certificate of accomplishment.
Gabby Etter will advance to the next level and have an opportunity to win additional scholarships. What a huge accomplishment by all of our SGAHS participants!
