Congratulations, Dr. Mary Beth Grove and Dr. Steven Guadagnino!

At the December 7, 2020 Board of School Directors meeting, the School Board accepted the retirement of Spring Grove Area School District Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Mary Beth Grove, effective August 1, 2021. Dr. Grove has dedicated over thirty-two years of service to public education with experience as an elementary classroom teacher, an instructional support teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, and most recently as Assistant Superintendent of the Spring Grove Area School District for the last five years.

Dr. Grove’s commitment to providing the best quality education to students has been unwavering throughout her career. When making any decision, she is known for always asking first, “What is best for our students?” Not only in her position as Assistant Superintendent, but additionally as a parent of Spring Grove alumni and a fellow community member, Dr. Grove has been one of the biggest cheerleaders for our students, staff, and district. She will be missed in her role, but we are confident when the time comes she will be on the sidelines in her Spring Grove Rockets gear continuing to cheer us on!

Additionally, the Board of School Directors has approved the appointment of Dr. Steven Guadagnino as the new Assistant Superintendent of the Spring Grove Area School District, effective August 2, 2021. Dr. Guadagnino has been working in public education for over twenty-seven years. He has experience teaching and coaching seventh, eighth, and ninth graders in Maryland and in Pennsylvania. He was hired by the Spring Grove Area School District in 2005 as the Middle School Assistant Principal and since 2007 has been serving as the Middle School Principal.

During Dr. Guadagnino’s tenure in the District, he has chaired and been a member of a variety of District committees focused on curriculum, technology, school safety, strategic planning, and diversity. Dr. Guadagnino received the 2019 William E. Caldwell Award for Excellence in Administration and Supervision from the Pennsylvania School Study Council at Penn State University.

The School Board is pleased to announce Dr. Guadagnino’s appointment, and with Dr. Grove’s leadership, looks forward to a smooth transition. As you see both Dr. Guadagnino and Dr. Grove in their travels, please be sure to share with them your best wishes.
