Art Club Mosaic Mural on Display

Students in with art mosaic      art mosaic mural

Students from Spring Grove Area High School's Art Club dedicated their completed mosaic mural this fall. The mural is hanging near the entrance of the High School beside the school store. The design was created by 2019 graduate, Eden Blottenberger. The design is meant to represent hope, creativity, and possibility. The girl in the image has a scene behind her that represents her imagination, while the landscape is meant to signify her hopes and dreams. Eden's objective was to create an image that was positive and uplifting.

Spring Grove resident and retired teacher, Larry Vickers, who taught mosaic art in Baltimore City, worked with the students every Thursday afternoon in the spring, teaching them about mosaic art. They completed practice mosaics and made most of the tile for the project by hand.

Watch Mrs. Lamparter and the Art Club students tell their story of how they created this beautiful piece of art.
