Paperless Report Cards Gr. 5-12
The Spring Grove Area School District began using a new Student Information System this year called “Sapphire.” Sapphire has many exciting features and benefits that will support students, families, and staff during the 2018-2019 school year.
Please see the important information below for a change regarding Report Cards.
New for 2018-2019 in Grades 5-12
Parents and students will now have immediate and continuous (24/7) access of student performance in all subject areas using the Sapphire Community Portal (private access for parents and students.) Subsequently, Mid-Term Progress Reports and Report Cards will no longer be issued and sent home with students. These are also available for download from the Portal.
Our Communication to You
At the middle of each grading period, an announcement will be posted in the Community Portal prompting parents and students to check the student’s current grades.
How Do I Get a Sapphire Parent Portal Account?
To create a Community Portal account, please go to the district website at https://www.sgasd.org. Select the link for Sapphire under the “For Parents” channel. At the Community Portal login page, follow instructions to help you create an account.
Please note that your account request, approval, and receipt of a PIN may take up to five (5) business days. This time is needed to ensure accuracy in confirmation of parent accounts associated with correct student accounts.
While only one Community Portal account per household is needed to receive the progress reports and report cards, we encourage each parent/ guardian, regardless of who lives with the student, to create an account.
Note: Students received their Community Portal account information in school.
If you have any problems submitting your application, please email email@example.com and we will respond as quickly as we can. You may also contact the school office for additional questions about Sapphire.
I Don’t Have Internet Access. What Should I Do?
Families who do not have access to a computer or the Internet should contact their child’s school to make arrangements to receive a paper copy of these academic documents.
Thank you for being involved in your student’s education.
