March 1, 2022: Updated CDC Guidance Regarding Masks on School Buses

Dear Rocket Families,

I am writing to share with you the latest guidance from the CDC regarding the federal requirement to wear masks on school buses and vans. Effective February 25, 2022, the CDC is exercising its enforcement discretion to not require that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/childcare programs. The CDC is making this change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask-wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 community level. York County is currently designated a low-risk county for community spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, Spring Grove Area School District transportation, in partnership with Krise Transportation, will be mask optional for students and bus and van drivers effective immediately. Click here to read the full update from the CDC

As always, I thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. George W. Ioannidis
Superintendent
