August 3, 2021: Back to School Information & Face Covering Update

Dear Rocket Families, 
 
We have been diligently preparing for the 2021-2022 school year and are excited to once again see our hallways and classrooms filled with students! Please read the message below for helpful information and important updates for the new school year.  
 
Back to School Information  
To help you get ready for the start of the new school year, we have put together this  Back to School Information webpage on our District website. We hope you find it helpful in beginning your back-to-school preparations.  
 
You will also be receiving building-specific back-to-school information from your child’s school building via email and the Sapphire Community Web Portal. Please be sure to check your email regularly for these important communications.  
 
Sapphire Community Web Portal Update  
Sapphire has now updated the Community Web Portal so that a pin number will no longer be needed to log in to your account. If you already have a Sapphire account, you will need to log in one last time with your pin, then you will be prompted to reset your password. Once your password is reset, you will no longer need your pin number.  
 
Face Covering Update 
As you may know, face masks and face shields are optional for students in school and participating in extracurricular activities. We strongly encourage students, staff, and visitors to wear a face covering while in our school buildings regardless of one’s vaccination status. We will welcome everyone and respect each person’s individual decision to wear a face covering.  
 
Please note one important update regarding face coverings: Per the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and CDC Federal order, face coverings are required to be worn by students and drivers on all school buses/vans. The TSA deems school buses as public transportation, and currently, anyone using any type of public transportation is required to wear a face covering per the Federal order.
