    A Message from the Superintendent

    Dr. George W. Ioannidis

Portrait picture of Dr. George IoannidisOne of my favorite business writers is Peter Drucker.  In one of his essays, he noted that “...successful careers are not planned.  They develop when people are prepared for opportunities because they know their strengths, their method of work, and their values.  Knowing where one belongs can transform an ordinary person – hard-working and competent but otherwise mediocre – into an outstanding performer.”

Here in Spring Grove Area School District, we strive every day to work with our students and with one another to transform each of us into an outstanding performer and prepare each other for the many opportunities the future holds.  We engage in partnership with our families, businesses, and community organizations to challenge our students to attain their full potential. We celebrate our diverse backgrounds that bring varying perspectives and talents into our classrooms.

We do this by embracing the concept of Learning Without Limits for all and applying its four tenants in all that we do:

    • Our students will learn to solve complex problems, not just in the classroom, but in their lives after they leave Spring Grove.

    • We will enhance these problem-solving skills by connecting our students with others, whether they are their peers or an advisor who will guide them through their challenge.

    • Furthermore, our students will engage in rigorous learning activities and understand the complexities of the world around us and how to become good, productive citizens.

    • Lastly, our students will own their learning; we will inspire them to be their best and to enthusiastically engage in activities that are fun and educational.

We are honored that the families in our community have entrusted us with the education and wellbeing of their children.  We are committed to meeting the expectations and the challenges before us as we prepare our students to become hard-working, confident, and respectful citizens of our great country.
