• SGFlex for students in grades 7-12

Students at the secondary level have the following options available to them through SGFlex:

    • Grades 7 - 12: Asynchronous independent online learning with support as needed from a dedicated Spring Grove Area School District teacher (unless otherwise indicated).

    • Grades 9 - 12: Synchronous online learning with daily live sessions for each scheduled subject with a Spring Grove Area School District teacher.

Parents/guardians may have the option to choose a blend of online and traditional in-person courses for their child. If you have an interest in a blended schedule for your child, please contact us to discuss this option.

Grades 7-12 Asynchronous Learning

  • Students will work through a district-provided curriculum through an online education partner. While most elective courses are not offered through SGFlex, parents/guardians can discuss with their child's building principal the opportunity to participate in those courses in the traditional in-person environment.

Students and their parents/guardians can expect the following:

    • Instruction will be completed independently online following daily pacing goals.

    • Each class will have a teacher assigned to monitor progress and grade assignments.

    • Students at the secondary level are expected to be able to work independently with minimal parental oversight. However, each child's learning needs are unique. We encourage parents/guardians to check in and provide support as needed to ensure a successful learning experience for their child.

    Attendance and Participation

    • Daily attendance is based on lesson completion.

    • Continued enrollment is based on attendance, assignment completion, and academic performance.

    Asynchronous Courses

Most asynchronous courses are taught through Edgenuity with oversight from a Spring Grove Area School District teacher. You can view a preview of the Edgenuity courseware here. To provide as many opportunities for our students as possible, some courses may be taught by a contracted teacher who is not directly employed by the district or is taught through BYU Independent Study. Those courses that are not overseen by a district teacher are indicated in the course listing below as follows:

    • The live, online component may not always last the entire class period.

    • Some work will be done offline/independently, at the teacher’s discretion and direction.
