Welcome, Officer Mike Hine!
We are pleased to share that Officer Hine has joined our team as a School Resource Officer (SRO). Officer Hine takes on the role previously held by Officer Chetaitis, who has been an invaluable part of our district for several years. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Officer Chetaitis for his dedicated service. This transition is part of the Northern York County Regional Police Department (NYCRPD) SRO rotation process.
Our district benefits from having two SROs, and Officer Mengel will continue to serve alongside Officer Hine. The presence of SROs supports and enhances our safety and security efforts. They help maintain a secure environment, build positive relationships with students, and become an integral part of our school community by participating in classroom safety lessons, school activities, and events.
Officer Hine brings extensive experience from his career with the NYCRPD, including roles such as police officer, field training officer, and criminal investigator. His specialized training in areas like forensic response to missing children and child exploitation, along with his accolades for outstanding performance, make him a valuable asset to our district.
Officer Hine has already begun engaging with our students and staff and is getting well-acquainted with our schools. We are confident that his expertise and commitment will positively impact our school community.
