The Marching Band Reveals New Uniforms
After an extensive three-year development, the Spring Grove Rocket Marching Band revealed its new uniforms, blending tradition with modern design elements, at Senior Night on October 11, 2024.
The new uniforms honor the rich legacy of the Spring Grove Marching Band, incorporating influences from past decades. With nods to the powder blue uniforms of the 1980s and retaining the cadet-style jacket seen in previous designs, the updated look offers a fresh, modern twist. The bold Rocket logo prominently displayed on the chest symbolizes the band's spirit, while silver accents pay tribute to the uniforms of the early years.
“These uniforms represent more than just a new look—they capture the essence of our band’s history while pushing us forward as our district band program continues to grow,” said Kyle Showalter, Marching Band Director. “We’re excited to unveil them at Senior Night, where we will celebrate our seniors and our collective dedication to the continued tradition of excellence synonymous with the Rocket Marching Band.”
Designed by Stanbury Uniforms, with both comfort and durability in mind, the uniforms offer a blend of classic style and modern functionality, ensuring that each member can perform confidently while showcasing the band’s iconic heritage.
A sincere thank you is extended to the many parent volunteers who helped coordinate the mid-season switch to the new uniforms, ensuring a smooth transition. Special thanks to Tracy Crouse from the Spring Grove Area Historical Preservation Society for providing access to historical uniforms that inspired elements of the new design. The Spring Grove Rocket Marching Band also expresses gratitude to the Board of School Directors, District, and Building Administration for their unwavering support of the marching and the arts in the Spring Grove Area School District.
