Spring Grove Students Shine at Hanover Gymnastics
Spring Grove gymnasts wrapped up an impressive season with the Hanover Gymnastics team! Several SGASD athletes earned spots at the State Competition, bringing home medals and achieving personal bests along the way. Their hard work, dedication, and standout performances made this season one to remember. Highlights for our Rocket gymnasts include:
Girls Gymnastics
Level 3
- Savannah Akers (SGE) qualified for her first Level 3 States; her highest score this season was on Vault (9.0)
- Elizabeth Horne (SGE) competed in her first season as a Level 3 gymnast; her highest score this season was on Vault (8.9)
Level 4
- Crimson Sprenkle (SGE) highest score this season was on Beam (8.575); competed in her first season of Level 4
- Carley Bollinger (SGE) highest score this season was on Beam (8.4); competed in her first season of Level 4
- Sarah Dellinger (SGE) qualified for Level 4 States- finishing in the top 10 on Beam, Bars, Vault, and All-Around; personal best scores this season were on Vault (8.6), Beam (9.0), and in the All-Around (33.650) to qualify to States
- Kaelyn Klunk (PE) qualified for Level 4 States- finished top 5 on Vault; personal best score this season was on Floor (8.675)
Level 6
- Leeah King (SGFlex) qualified for Level 6 States- finished top 10 on Bars, personal best scores this season were on Floor (9.25) and in the All-Around (35.775)
- Gemma Gantz (NS) qualified for Level 6 States- finished top 10 on Vault; personal best scores this season were on Bars (8.8), Floor (9.375), and in the All-Around (35.100)
- Quinn Yohe (SGE) qualified for Level 6 State- tied for 2nd on Vault (9.25); had a phenomenal season with personal best scores on Vault (9.25), Bars (9.1), Beam (9.2), and in the All-Around (36.000)
- Aubrey Zartman (SGI) qualified for Level 6 States; personal best scores this season were on Bars (9.15), Floor (8.9), and in the All-Around (35.325)
Level 7
- Aubree King (SGFlex) qualified for Level 7 States- finished top 10 on Beam; highest scores this season were on Beam (9.35) and Floor (9.35)
Level 8
- Marcy Neiderer's (SGAMS) highest score this season was on Beam (9.35); qualified for Level 8 States
- Joslynn Klunk's (SGAMS) highest score this season was on Floor (9.225); qualified for Level 8 States
Level 9
- Vienna DeRienzo's (SGAMS) highest score this season was on Beam (8.9); qualified for Level 9 States
- Ruby Trimmer's (SGAMS) highest score this season was on Beam (9.2); qualified for Level 9 States
XCEL
- Brianna Arnold's (SGAHS) highest score this season was on Vault (8.9); qualified for XCEL Diamond States in April; Senior athlete
- Anna Kaminkow's (SGAHS) personal best scores this season were on Bars (8.25) and on Beam (9.525); Qualified for XCEL Diamond States in April
- Didi Kalathas' (SGAMS) personal score this season was on Floor (9.475); Qualified for XCEL Platinum States in April
- Emma Brooks (SGAMS) qualified for XCEL Gold States- finished 3rd on Beam (9.575), tied for 2nd on Floor (9.25), and finished top 5 on Bars and the All-Around; qualified for XCEL Gold Regionals; highest scores this season were on Beam (9.575) and Floor (9.5);
- Aaliyah Joseph (SGI) qualified for XCEL Gold States- finished top 5 on Vault; highest scores of the season were on Vault (9.3) and Floor (9.225)
- Irelyn Sprenkle (SGE) did not compete this season but has continued to bravely battle cancer throughout the gymnastics year, inspiring all those around her.
- Temprince Lawyer's (SGE) highest score this season was on Floor (8.8)
- Ella Henry's (PES) first year competing as an XCEL Silver gymnast; highest scores of this season was on Bars (9.6); qualified for XCEL Silver States in May
Boys Gymnastics
- Mario DeRienzo (SGI) qualified for Level 8 States; tied for 3rd on Vault, qualified for Region 6 Regionals; tied for 2nd on rings (11.800) and finished 3rd on Vault (11.400) and Parallel Bars (12.050); qualified for Eastern Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Jonathan Ziegler (NSE) qualified for Level 3 States; finished 3rd on Pommel Horse (8.8), Vault (9.8), Parallel Bars (9.1), and High Bar (9.6); qualified for Compulsory Regionals; finished 2nd on Rings (9.25) and is the Level 3 Compulsory Regional Champion on High Bar (9.15)
