SGAMS Student Places 1st in VFW Patriot's Pen Contest

Spring Grove Area Middle School student, Paige Garrison, won first place at the local level in the VFW Patriot's Pen Written Essay Competition! She also placed second at the district level for District 21, which covers York, Adams, and Franklin counties.

The competition is organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), begins at the local post level, and progresses through various stages, culminating in a celebration of national winners. The essay contest encourages young minds in grades sixth through eighth to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300 to 400-word essay expressing their views based on a patriotic theme, "How are you inspired by America?".

Paige will be recognized at the upcoming VFW Award Program. Congratulations, Paige!
