SGAMS Receives Grant for Innovative Science Technology
Spring Grove Area Middle School is thrilled to announce that its science department was awarded a $2,918.57 grant from the Spring Grove Area Educational Fund to introduce photogates into the 8th-grade science curriculum. This technology will enhance students' exploration of critical concepts such as speed, motion, and force.
The photogates, which integrate seamlessly with student iPads via Bluetooth, will significantly improve the accuracy of lab data by reducing human error in time and speed measurements. This improvement will make experiments more efficient and deepen students' understanding of scientific principles.
“This grant aligns with our District’s mission of ‘Learning Without Limits,’ giving our students access to better technology and making science more engaging,” said Mr. Josh Ross, one of the grant applicants and an 8th-grade science teacher.
A huge thank you to the Spring Grove Area Educational Fund for believing in our vision and supporting our goal of fostering a deeper love of science.
