SGAHS Theatre Students Shine at PA State Thespian Conference


Nineteen Spring Grove Area High School students attended the Pennsylvania State Thespian Conference from January 2 - 4 at Parkland High School in Allentown, PA. The conference offered students the opportunity to take part in live performances, hands-on workshops, and a variety of theatre challenges alongside peers from across the state.

Students participating included Violet Chidester, Allie Wastler, Brynn Brossman, Ada Miller, Hope Vough, Sierra Godfrey, Liliana DeJesus, Emma Gartrell, Amelia Messinger, Faith Champagne, Reese Shamer, Tessa Hare, Miles Crushong, Anne Dixon, Hailey Shearer, Brooke Shaffer, Warren Parkhurst, Jareth DeWall, and Benjamin Trayer.

The Spring Grove troupe earned the conference’s highest distinction, being named a Gold Honor Troupe. The group also performed the main stage one-act production "Welcome to Purgatory," which received an overall excellent rating.

Individual student achievements were also recognized.

  • Senior Violet Chidester earned Hall of Fame: Excellent Performer honors.
  • Senior Hope Vough was named Hall of Fame: Tech & Crew Member.
  • Warren Parkhurst received Hall of Fame: Overall Outstanding Thespian recognition and was also awarded Star Performer for the troupe’s one-act performance.

Congratulations to all participating students on their outstanding accomplishments, and special thanks to the advisors and families who support their success. Their achievements reflect the strength of the district’s performing arts program and the dedication of its students.
