SGAHS Senior Named to 2025 NAfME All-Eastern Honors Mixed Chorus
Spring Grove Area High School (SGAHS) senior Lucas Buhrman has achieved a remarkable milestone by being selected for the 2025 National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-Eastern Honors Mixed Chorus. Lucas is one of just 200 students chosen for this prestigious ensemble, and one of only 45 selected from Pennsylvania.
The All-Eastern Honors Ensembles bring together the most talented student musicians from 11 states across the Northeast, including Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
To be eligible for this honor, students must have participated in the 2024 All-State Festival in their respective state before their senior year. The selection process is rigorous, requiring students to progress through multiple levels of competition: starting with the District Chorus, advancing to the Region Chorus, achieving All-State status by ranking among the top 6 students in their section, and finally being selected from hundreds of applicants for the All-Eastern Honors Festival.
Lucas’s dedication and talent throughout this competitive journey have now earned him this prestigious distinction—the highest level of advancement available through the PMEA and NAfME festival circuit.
Please join us in congratulating Lucas on this outstanding accomplishment!
