SGAHS Mock Trial Teams Excel in Three Recent Tournaments

The Spring Grove Area High School Mock Trial teams have excelled in three recent tournaments, boasting over thirty students and four teams. At the University of Pittsburgh Mock Trial Tournament in January, our top team had a winning record but narrowly missed third place in the final trial. Ada Miller and John Reilly received Best Witness awards.

The subsequent weekend, at Penn State's Blue and White Classic, Spring Grove achieved an impressive 8-0 record, triumphing over Altoona in the finals. Notably, we defeated the second and third-place teams. Brady Myers, Finley Ritenour, Kathryn Wyrick, and Mallory Snyder earned Best Attorney Advocate awards, while John Reilly received another Best Witness award.

The victorious Penn State team comprised Kathrine Wyrick, Mallory Snyder, Kaitlyn Edwards, Hadley Lamb, John Reilly, Ava German, Charles Stewart, and Caitlin Gandionco.

At the recent Benjamin Franklin Invitational Tournament at the University of Pennsylvania, although we had the opportunity to win, we lost the final trial to Abington Heights. North Pocono, whom we defeated at Penn State, clinched the first position. Hadley Lamb and Benjamin Trayer received Best Witness awards.

Overall, it has been a highly successful start to the season!
