SGAHS Hosts HOPE Day

SGAHS Hosts HOPE Day

Students and staff at Spring Grove Area High School came together on May 1, 2026, for HOPE Day, a student-led initiative focused on raising awareness, supporting one another, and prioritizing mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month.

HOPE stands for Hold On, Pain Ends.

The event was planned and organized by the school’s Student Lighthouse team and included activities throughout the day designed to encourage connection, positive conversations, and student engagement.

In the morning, all high school students gathered at Papermakers Stadium, where school clubs hosted interactive activity tables and local mental health providers connected with students, sharing available resources and support services.

In the afternoon, students participated in “Lead What You Love” sessions organized by teachers. Activities took place both inside and outside the school and included opportunities such as hiking, crafts, sand volleyball, and other staff-led activities centered around personal interests and wellness.

HOPE Day reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting student well-being while empowering students to lead meaningful initiatives that strengthen school culture and community.
