SGAHS Boys Volleyball Teacher Appreciation Night

SGAHS Boys Volleyball Teacher Appreciation Night

Senior members of the Boys Volleyball team recently took time to recognize the teachers who have had the greatest impact on their lives. These educators have gone beyond the classroom, serving as mentors, supporters, and positive influences throughout their high school experience.

It’s always special to see our students pause to acknowledge the dedication, encouragement, and care our teachers bring each day.

Thank you to the Boys Volleyball team for this meaningful show of appreciation. And to our teachers, your impact extends far beyond the classroom! We are grateful for all that you do.

Jenna Bishard and Mr. Tom Hunt

Jenna Bishard Honors Mr. Tom Hunt, Volleyball Coach

I chose to recognize Mr. Hunt. He put forth an amazing effort in coaching me in Volleyball and being my Math teacher. Mr. Hunt always believed in me and pushed me to be my best. I will always have many fond memories of my Volleyball and Geometry experiences because of him. I am very appreciative that I had him as a coach and a teacher. He is very supportive, easy to talk to, and of course, the most humorous person I know.

Thank you, Mr. Hunt.

Alayna Zeigler and Ms. Baer

Alayna Ziegler Honors Señora Baer, Spanish Teacher at SGAHS

I chose to recognize Señora Baer for many reasons. Señora Baer has always been someone I can count on to cheer me up. She is always willing to make time to help me with scholarship related things and is always available to talk about anything. Señora Baer will always leave a huge impact on me in many ways. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done for me.

Thank you for everything, Señora.

Luke Bair and Ms. Ford

Luke Bair Honors Ms. Kaylyn Ford, Business Teacher at SGAHS

Ms. Ford, thank you for being the perfect balance of kind and fair. You teach with clarity, efficiency, and a style that truly helps us grow. You care about who we are now and who we’ll become after high school, offering real-world and financial advice that actually matters. You lead so many activities, but Fellowship of Christian Athletes is my favorite because we get the opportunity to share our journeys of faith in Jesus with others.

Deklan Bishard and Ms. Riser

Deklan Bishard Honors Ms. Nikki Riser, Business Teacher at SGAHS

I had Ms. Riser for multiple business classes throughout high school. She planned many fun activities which helped support my interest in business. I enjoyed the Golf tournament. It was a lot of work, but fun. She was very supportive of my business idea that I ran over the summer.

Thank you Ms. Riser for making my interest in business grow.

Caleb Dinges and Mr. Zeigler

Caleb Dinges Honors Mr. Eric Zeigler, P.E./Wellness Teacher at SGAHS

I chose Mr. Zeigler because his Physical Education classes were my favorite throughout high school. Mr. Zeigler does a great job connecting with his students. His classes were always very competitive, yet the environment was fun. He goes out of his way to care for his students. My favorite memories are from AP team Aerobics.

Thank you Mr. Zeigler, for being an enjoyable caring teacher.

Luis Garcia-Moreno and Ms. Fluke

Luis Garcia-Moreno Honors Ms. Heather Fluke, Spanish Teacher at SGAHS

The reason I chose Ms. Fluke was not only because she is a great teacher, she is an amazingly kind person. Ms. Fluke is always doing her best to make everyone’s day better by not assigning homework or by just simply asking what our plans are for the weekend. Ms. Fluke is much more than a teacher. She is someone who makes our everyday lives happier. In the classroom, she provides us with a genuine experience.

Zane Lawrence and Mr. Trone

Zane Lawrence Honors Mr. Tom Trone, Social Studies Teacher at SGAHS

One teacher that stood out above all others in my life was Coach Trone. He stood by me during injury, offering support and encouragement when I needed it most. He didn’t just focus on recovery, but also helped me develop the mental and physical toughness that I needed the most. Through his guidance, I learned resilience, discipline, and perseverance. Most importantly, he helped build my character, shaping who I am today. His influence reached far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on my life.

Sean Henning Honors Ms. Samantha Strausbaugh, P.E./Wellness Teacher at SGAHS

I chose Ms. Strausbaugh because she is the reason why I started playing Volleyball. I wasn’t planning on playing a spring sport until she asked me to try out, which was the day before tryouts. I enjoyed my Physical Education classes with her. She always pushed me to be focused and driven. Thank you, Ms. Strausbaugh, for introducing me to Volleyball and teaching me about passion.

Thank you to our teachers for inspiring these young minds!
