S-T-R-I-V-E Volunteer Tax Relief Program
Some senior citizens over the age of 62 may qualify for school property tax reduction through the Spring Grove Area School District's S-T-R-I-V-E Program. The acronym stands for Senior Tax Rebate Incentive Volunteer Exchange.
Seniors or other persons can accumulate credit for service provided to the school district during a particular year which will be credited to the following year's tax bill. Credits earned during the current school year will reduce the tax liability for the real estate tax invoices issued in July of the following school year. The tax invoices issued in July will reflect the full amount due, however, the taxpayer and the tax collector will be issued a credit statement indicating the amount of the credit.
