About Secondary Transition Services
At Spring Grove Area School District, secondary transition involves equipping students with disabilities with the skills and resources necessary for their lives beyond high school, encompassing endeavors such as post-secondary education, vocational training, employment opportunities, and community integration. Students in middle school or early high school years, will engage in activities aimed at fostering career awareness and exploration. This process extends throughout high school, with instruction and community engagements aimed at supporting positive outcomes.
Below you will find several resources to help guide you and your child. For additional information, please visit the PA Secondary Transition website. It is continually updated with the latest transition events and resources for youth, young adults, parents, and professionals to assist in facilitating a young person’s progress towards post-secondary goals related to education, employment, and community living.

Transition Discoveries Grant
The Spring Grove Area School District Special Education Department applied for and was awarded a $45,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) to implement transition services for students in the Special Education program in grades 7-12!
We are so excited to use the grant funds to implement successful practices to support youth with disabilities in their transition from school to adult life. This transition could include getting a job and securing transportation, being an active part of the community, getting more education after high school and other ways of living independently.
