Donate Clothing & Support Spring Grove Students

Support our students by donating gently used clothing and shoes at any of the three Community Donation Bins located throughout the Spring Grove Area School District. Your donations help fund school programs, support students in need, and promote sustainability by giving items a second life.

Bin Locations

Our donation bins are located in the parking lots of:

  • New Salem Elementary School: Proceeds benefit NSE students through the PTO.

  • Spring Grove Elementary School: Proceeds benefit SGE students through the PTO.

  • Spring Grove Area Middle School: Proceeds benefit the district-wide Backpack Program and SGASD students in need through the Spring Grove Area Educational Fund, Inc.

Important: Please Do NOT Leave Items Outside the Bins

Leaving donations or trash outside of the bins creates several problems, many of which result in your contributions being discarded rather than used.

Why items should never be left outside:

  • Items become unusable. Anything exposed to the weather, animals, or debris must be discarded for health and safety reasons.
  • It creates an unsightly environment. Loose items make our school grounds look cluttered and unwelcoming.
  • It increases the workload for school staff. Custodians must remove and dispose of items left outside, shifting time away from other essential tasks.
  • It can be unsafe. Loose bags or scattered items can create hazards in parking lots.
  • It may attract pests. Items left outside can draw animals or insects onto school grounds.
  • Bin operators cannot collect items left outside, which means your donation won’t reach a student or family in need.

If a bin is full, please help us keep our campus clean and safe by taking the following steps:

If the Donation Bin Is Full

  • DO NOT leave items outside of the bin.
  • Please wait until the bin is emptied (bins are serviced weekly), OR
  • Drop items off at another SGASD donation bin, OR
  • Deliver items directly to a local CommunityAid store.
