I chose Spring Grove because I wanted to serve in a district where community matters, where people genuinely care about one another, and where students are at the center of every decision. Every day, I am reminded that Spring Grove embodies all of those qualities, and so much more.

From the moment I arrived, I have been welcomed with kindness, support, and encouragement. Our staff, students, families, and community members have been incredibly generous with their time, insights, and commitment to helping me learn what makes Spring Grove special.

One of the greatest joys of serving as superintendent has been getting to know the people who make this district exceptional. I have seen firsthand the dedication of our staff, the talent and character of our students, and the pride our community takes in its schools. These experiences have only strengthened my belief that Spring Grove is a remarkable place to learn, work, and grow.

As we look ahead, I remain committed to listening, learning, and working alongside our students, staff, families, and community partners. Together, we will continue building on the strong foundation that already exists while keeping our focus on what matters most: providing every student with the opportunities, support, and experiences they need to succeed.

Daphne Kirkpatrick, Ph.D.
Superintendent

Dr. Daphne Kirkpatrick became Superintendent of the Spring Grove Area School District on March 30, 2026, bringing more than 25 years of experience in public education and a career grounded in teaching, learning, and service.

Dr. Kirkpatrick began her career supporting students as a one-to-one paraprofessional in a special education classroom and later served as a building secretary and instructional support paraprofessional before returning to college to become an educator. Those experiences continue to shape her appreciation for every role within a school community.

She began her teaching career in 1998 as an elementary teacher in the Danville Area School District, where she taught multiple grade levels and integrated technology to enhance student learning. She later served in district leadership roles overseeing curriculum, instruction, and technology initiatives, leading professional development, K–12 curriculum development, and strategic planning.

Dr. Kirkpatrick went on to serve as Acting Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology at Midd-West School District, where she helped lead district operations and major initiatives, including a one-to-one technology program and the establishment of the district's first Pre-K program. From 2014 to 2023, she served as Director of Education at Milton Area School District, providing leadership for teaching and learning while guiding long-term strategic planning. Most recently, she served as Assistant Superintendent at Elizabethtown Area School District.

She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from The Pennsylvania State University, a master's degree in Instructional Technology, a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University, and an associate degree in Spanish.

Dr. Kirkpatrick is known for her collaborative leadership style, commitment to building strong relationships, and focus on clear communication. She is dedicated to fostering safe, inclusive learning environments where students, staff, and the entire school community can thrive.
