• Transportation

SGASD provides bus transportation to families within the District whose children attend SGASD schools, as well as local non-public schools. The Transportation Department handles arrangements for approximately 4,000 students over a 92-square-mile area. The District contracts with Krise Transportation, Inc. to provide these services.

  • Bus Stop Changes

All requests for new stops or changes must be sent to the Transportation Department in writing. Send via e-mail: stinel@sgasd.org.

District Policy indicates NO bus changes will be made 10 days before or 10 days after the start of school. Please email your requests, as they will be addressed on an individual basis.

    Bus Passes

If your child utilizes district transportation, they are required to ride their assigned bus only. Bus passes will NOT be issued for the 2022-2023 school year unless there is an extreme emergency and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Contact must be made directly to the Transportation Office @ 717-225-4731 ext. 3024 or via email.

    Bus Assignment Procedure

Bus assignments will be available via the Sapphire Community Web Portal.

In the interest of safety and overcrowding of buses, we can only allow students to be assigned to one AM bus and one PM bus for the duration of the school year. This does NOT pertain to a pre-arranged babysitter or custody arrangements.

There is an exception for students who relocate within the District from one home to another. In this instance, they would be assigned a new stop based on their new address.

If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Department at 717-225-4731 ext. 3024 or via email.

A Reminder to Kindergarten Parents

  • A parent, guardian, or a student in grades 5-12 MUST accommodate your son/daughter to and from the bus stop. Any individuals you have permitted to get your student off the bus must be listed as an emergency contact and notified of this policy. Please contact Transportation with any additional changes.
