• What's Happening in the Career Center?

    Job Spotlight: Reminder UPMC and WellSpan have work programs for senior students along with a volunteer program for students who are interested in learning more about opportunities in the hospital setting.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity please see Mr. Fake or Mrs. Ramsay.

    First Energy - On November 21st, Robert Rizzolo will be presenting information about the opportunities of the First Energy Apprenticeship opportunity available after graduation.  This presentation will occur during Mr. Richards Pre-Apprenticeship course, but all are welcome to attend.  If you are interested in learning more, you must sign up here in order to attend. You will need to report to Room 135 at 10:30am. 

    Distinguished Young Women Presentation: A Representative will be in the Career Center on Friday, December 2nd at 9:55am to discuss this program. The DYW program is a national scholarship program that has successfully opened the door of opportunity for young women since its beginning as the Junior Miss Program. It recognizes and rewards students for their accomplishments with scholarship dollars. High school junior girls are eligible to apply. If you are interested in learning more about the DYW and would like to attend the presentation, sign up HERE for the presentation. 

    York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL) - Applications for the Spring one day career exploration program will open on December 12th.  Keep an eye on your email after break for additional information.  20+ different opportunities will be available in the Spring!

    Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week: The Foundation for Free Enterprise Education presents “PFEW”. This is a summer education program where you will explore modern business and your future. By running your own company with students from all over the state, you will gain invaluable knowledge, relevant skills, powerful tools and discover how your talents translate into great careers. There is a registration fee once accepted. To learn more click HERE

    Hanover Auto Team: Introduction to Automotive Careers.  Spend the day with the Hanover Auto Team to explore well-paying career opportunities at their family-owned team of dealerships.  Students in grades 10th-12th can participate.  Attendance is free and the program runs from 9am-2pm on Wednesday, April 12th.  Please sign up here and Mr. Fake will submit your interest.

    11th Grade Students – The Lenfest Scholars Foundation will be opening their application cycle for the Lenfest Scholars program on December 5th!  Please be sure to apply, check in with your counselor if you have any questions! 

    Messiah University - Are you interested in learning more about an accounting program at the college level?  Come hear from Rodney Sauder, Associate Professor of Accounting at Messiah University.  Rodney will be speaking in Mrs. Ford’s Accounting classes periods 2 and 4 on Monday, November 21st.  If you aren’t in these classes and would like to attend this presentation please sign up here.
