This marks my twelfth year with Spring Grove Area School District as a teacher at New Salem Elementary.  For the first six years of my teaching career I taught 4^th grade at New Salem.  This will be my sixth year teaching 3^rd grade.  Every year has been exciting and memorable, as I have been so very grateful to teach such wonderful students. 

   I grew up in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, which is twenty minutes from Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!) I currently reside in York, PA with my husband Matthew and son Bennett. We also have two crazy cats named Sadie and Milo. Whenever I have time, I love to visit my family and friends back in Pittsburgh.  When I’m not at school, I love to read, try new recipes, redecorate the house, and go on random adventures with my family.  I also love to listen to music and learn how to use new technology, which I try to incorporate into student learning whenever I can.  

   Here’s a little more information about my educational background.  I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology.  During my senior year, I was chosen as one of the 60 Pennsylvania State University Elementary Education majors to participate in a year long, collaborative student teaching experience arranged between the Pennsylvania State University and the State College Area School District. In addition, I received my Masters of Education from Penn State York in Curriculum and Instruction.   

   New Salem Elementary is a fantastic place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff, and parents.  I feel very privileged to be a member of the New Salem faculty and I look forward to working with your child and helping them succeed and grow as learners.
