    The activities below will help to practice the strategies covered in the module. 

    1. Credibility of a Website

    1. A student is researching the explorer John Cabot. When they search in Google, here are the results they get:

    3. While most of us can recognize the bogus information in one of the websites, students may not be able to. Click on the link below to describe how students could determine which site is more credible.

     2. Compare and Contrast Queries

    1. Select a topic or concept that you or your students would research for your content / grade level.

    2. Open a new tab in your browser, go to Google and type the topic directly into the Google Search bar.

    3. Look over the results.

    4. Try to refine your results by using operators, Advanced Search, synonyms, etc.

    5. Look over these results, comparing them to the results you got in step #2.

    6. Record your observations in the Google Forms linked below.

    7. Repeat for a total of 5 topics. Try to use different methods for refining results, don’t always do the same thing. An example is shown below:
