Universal Precautions for Staff-Annual Training

Epipen Administration Training for Faculty and Staff
Staff, please complete these modules if you have a student in class who requires epinephrine to treat a life-threatening allergy. You may wish to obtain an epinephrine training device from the health room prior to beginning this module. Please go to Safe Schools-Training from For Staff tab on the district website to begin. Scroll down to the Health section of the Extra Training. Your training consists of the following two modules:
Health Emergencies: Life-Threatening Allergies
Medication Administration: Epinephrine Auto-Injectors
Following completion of these modules, you must complete the training by return demonstration of this skill to the school nurse in your building. Please complete this by the end of September. Your training certificate is valid for two years from date of completion.

Preventing Allergic Reactions
Faculty with students who have a history of food allergies or serious allergic reactions, should view this page. It may be a helpful addition to your substitute folder as well.

Is sugar the first ingredient?
Check this table to help you with reading food labels. The student wellness policy allows for 2-3 items with sugar as the first ingredient to be served during classroom parties or as rewards.
