The Spring Grove Area School District is committed to providing opportunities for ALL students to reach their full potential in music education. If cost is a prohibitive factor in participating in band, PLEASE contact Mr. Bupp via phone or email to discuss available programs. WE CAN HELP!
Spring of 3rd Grade Year
Band Assembly (4/21/2014) Our intermediate school musicians will visit all three elementary schools to demonstrate instruments and share positive experiences in band. Students take home a band packet and return the permission slip by May 1st. See the page to the left "BE PART OF THE BAND" for more information and forms.
Lessons begin in late August/early September. I will provide written information to students and parents with their child's lesson day and group. These will be placed in the classroom teacher's mailboxes as well as sent home with you and posted outside of the band room.
All lessons are concurrently scheduled (such as: Title 1, Seminar and Enrichment Courses). Students are group in like instrument groups (flutes, oboes, etc.) and last for thirty minutes and meet once per six-day cycle. I am very willing to adjust student's lessons to accommodate any needs with their classroom needs.
We will hold a "Debut Concert" to showcase what the students have learned in just a few months. (This will occur in November once dates and facilities are finalized.)
Lessons continue, large "full band" rehearsals are added in preparation for the Spring Concert. This large group will also meet during recess time 5-6 times in late April and early May. A schedule will be posted and sent home will all students.
SPRING CONCERT will be held at the high school in late May. Once dates and facilities are finalized at the beginning of the school year, information will be sent home with students and posted here on the website.
