    Section 1=
SGMS String Lessons & Orchestra Class

String lessons rotate throughout the cycles so students DO NOT MISS the same academic class every time they have a string lesson.😁
Lessons are 30 minutes long.  Lessons are a graded activity.  Lessons/ Sectionals will be held in the band room.    Each student will be given concert music / lesson materials to practice at home.  These items stay at home.  Lesson books need to be returned to school when the student progresses to the next book.

Students who start a String instrument ( or quit and are returning to the String Program)  in Middle School will have a  30 minute string lesson  one time a cycle that rotates.  The student will be able to join the Orchestra ensemble/ class once the student has mastered all of the notes on all of the strings.  ( Keep scrolling down the page to see information about getting an instrument)

DAY 5 ORCHESTRA CLASS WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Orchestra Class will be held in the Band room  STAGE  on Days 3 & 5 LAST PERIOD BOTH DAYS.
SO STRING STUDENTS WILL NEED THEIR INSTRUMENTS DAY 3 ONLY! BOTH DAYS.   WE WILL BE SOCIAL DISTANCING IN THE AUDITORIUM.  PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE CHAIRS AND STANDS.  PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU.  WE CANNOT USE SCHOOL INSTRUMENTS, BINDERS, BOOKS, ROSIN..... TO ELIMINATE THE SPREAD OF GERMS.  PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE PIANO.   Orchestra Class is a graded class.

Play( practice) at home to fit your family's schedule.   A little bit every day is best.  Taking your string lesson book with you in the car- without the instrument- and looking at the music, or "air" playing is still considered practicing. Be creative and keep playing.  PRACTICE MAKES PROGESS!

    OPTIONAL Private Lessons

Since I only see your child for lessons one time every 6 days for 30 minutes in a group setting, I don't always get to give instruction like I would like.  Sometimes students need to be challenged or are needing more help.  This is where outside of school Private String Instruction might be beneficial.  One on one instruction is a great way to keep students working on harder concepts or to reinforce what is being taught in school group lessons.  Private String Lessons is a personal choice.  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
