• During your child's Kindergarten Title I readingclass  he/she is working on developing phonemic awareness skills, or letter-sound relationship. 
     
    Students participate in Haggerty Phonics to learn and practice a variety of phonemic awareness skills: 
    rhyming, phoneme segmentation, blending phonemes, and recognizing same and different sounds.
     
     
    Classroom instruction involves a structured program to teach letter-sound relationship.
     
     *You can reinforce your child's learning at home by naming items in your house that have the same beginning or ending sounds.
