During your child's Kindergarten Title I readingclass he/she is working on developing phonemic awareness skills, or letter-sound relationship.
Students participate in Haggerty Phonics to learn and practice a variety of phonemic awareness skills:
rhyming, phoneme segmentation, blending phonemes, and recognizing same and different sounds.
Classroom instruction involves a structured program to teach letter-sound relationship.
*You can reinforce your child's learning at home by naming items in your house that have the same beginning or ending sounds.
