    Background

    I have been employed in the district since 2001. I graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology and have been a dental hygienist since 1999. I am also employed in a local dentist's office in York, PA. I possess a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license to practice dental hygiene. This license is granted by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. I am certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

    A School Dental Hygienist is a dental professional who advocates for children's dental health within the educational setting. My duties include:
     
    • Performing the State-mandated dental screenings for 1st, 3rd, and 7th grade students
    • Providing classroom dental health education for K-8th grade
    • Acting as a liaison to link families with community dental health professionals and resources
