When bad weather strikes, you need to know how it will affect your daily schedule. We want to bring you that news efficiently and effectively, to help make your day easier!
Here is an inside peek at how we work to accomplish that.
A team of people, working with Dr. David Renaut, gather information about road conditions and weather forecasts. The safety of our students and staff is paramount so we pay close attention to what police and township officials advise about driving hazards.
As soon as the decision is made, we reach out to contact you by activating our robo-call communication system as the first order of business. With a database of well over 7,900 phone numbers to reach, we want to insure that you receive your message promptly. Please be sure the correct phone number is on file to reach you and that the line is open and accessible.
While the system is making automated calls, we are posting a tweet to the @SGSchoolNews twitter feed, placing an announcement under District Highlights on the main page of the District web site, and announcing it on the District Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Spring-Grove-Area-School-District) account.
We also contact various TV stations, including: Fox 43, WGAL-TV8, ABC27, CBS21, and WITF-TV; and radio stations: WSBA AM 910, WARM-103 FM, WSOX 96.1, WGET AM1320, WGTY FM 107.7, WYCR, WHVR, and WITF-FM 89.5.Stay safe and warm!
