District Mission
The mission of the Spring Grove Area School District, in partnership with families, businesses and community organizations, is to provide a safe and active learning environment, which will challenge and motivate all students to attain their full potential and reach proficiency on state assessments while preparing them for the future.

About Us/ Strategic Plan
The Spring Grove Area School District is located in south central Pennsylvania in York County.
The school district encompasses about 90 square miles and includes Heidelberg, Jackson,
North Codorus and Paradise townships, as well as the boroughs of Jefferson, New Salem,
Seven Valleys, and Spring Grove. The area is primarily residential/rural.
The population is steadily growing as many new housing developments are built.
The District currently operates three elementary schools (K-4), an intermediate school (5-6),
a middle school (7-8) and a high school (9-12).
A new high school opened in July 2008 on the Roth Church Road Campus, which also houses
one elementary school, the intermediate school and the middle school, as well as the
District’s stadium and other outdoor facilities. District administrative services are housed in
the Educational Service Center building.
The overall physical plant includes an indoor swimming pool, an indoor and an outdoor track,
various ball fields, as well as lighted tennis courts.
Academic Profile
The current pupil enrollment of approximately 4,200 students is served by a professional
teaching staff of 292. The student population has been steadily increasing.
District students have consistently scored above the state averages in the SAT tests.
At least 77% of SGAHS graduates go on for higher education or training.
