Board of School Directors
The School Board has complete and final control over all matters related to the operation of our schools. Actions taken by the Board are governed by both law and regulations established by the State Secretary of Education. The Board consists of nine district residents elected to four-year terms each. Members serve without salary or any type of compensation.
The Board meets Monday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Educational Service Center, located at 100 East College Avenue in Spring Grove. The first Monday is primarily a non-voting directors’ study forum, although voting may occur for time-critical issues. The third Monday is the regular board voting meeting. Both of these meetings are open to the public.
The Board encourages public comment on issues before them. A period of thirty minutes is reserved at the start of each meeting for such comment.
Individuals residing in the district, property owners whose property is within the district, and district employees who wish to address the board during this time period should call the Superintendent's office at 225-4731, ext. 3020 to be placed on the agenda. At least ten days notice is required for a speaker to be listed on the board agenda. Individuals not registered will be allowed comment, only if time allows on the agenda.
